Craig T. Nelson has had a very successful acting career. After Poltergeist, he went on to appear in several movies, including Troop Beverly Hills (1989), Ghosts of Mississippi (1996), The Skulls (2000), and The Family Stone (2005). He also starred as Coach Hayden Fox in the tv show "Coach" (1989-1997) and Chief Jack Mannion on the tv show "The District" (2000-2004).
