Beaches was a movie about two young girls who meet in Atlantic City and instantly become friends. Over the years, they keep in touch by writing letters, and eventually meet again when they are adults.

Bette Midler has had a long, successful acting and singing career. After Beaches, she went on to appear in movies, including Stella (1990), Hocus Pocus (1993), The First Wives Club (1996), and The Stepford Wives (2004). Most recently, she has been performing on various tv shows such as "So You Think You Can Dance" and "Dancing on Ice".

Barbara Hershey as Hillary Whitney Essex

After Beaches, Barbara Hershey went on to appear in movies such as The Public Eye (1992), Last of the Dogmen (1995), Breakfast of Champions (1999), and Riding the Bullet (2004). She also appeared in tv movies, including The Staircase (1998) and Hunger Point (2003). She is currently working on several new movies.

John Heard as John Pierce

John Heard has had a very successful acting career. After Beaches, John went on to appear in a long list of movies, including Awakenings (1990), Gladiator (1992), The Pelican Brief (1993), and The Chumscrubber (2005). He has also made guest appearances on a number of tv shows, including "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" (2001), "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (2002), "The Sopranos" (1999 & 2004), and "Prison Break" (2005-2006). He is currently working on several new movies.

Spalding Gray as Dr. Richard Milstein

After Beaches, Spalding Gray went on to appear in movies such as Straight Talk (1992), Diabolique (1996), Kate & Leopold (2001), and The Paper Mache Chase (2003). He also made guest appearances on a couple of tv shows, including "The Nanny" (1997-1998) and "The Mike O'Malley Show" (1999). Sadly, Spalding passed away on January 10, 2004.

Lainie Kazan as Leona Bloom

Lainie Kazan has had a very successful acting career. After Beaches, she went on to appear in a long list of movies, including The Associate (1996), The Crew (2000), My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002), and Gigli (2003). She has also made guest appearances on several tv shows, including "The Nanny" (1995-1999), "Will & Grace" (2001), and most recently, "Living with Fran" (2006). You can visit her official site here.

Mayim Bialik as 'CC' Bloom (age 11)

After Beaches, Mayim Bialik went on to appear in the 90s sitcom "Blossom" (1991-1995). She also made guest appearances on tv shows, including "MacGyver" (1989-1990), "7th Heaven" (2003), and "Fat Actress" (2005). She has also just finished a new movie.

Grace Johnston as Victoria Cecilia Essex

After Beaches, Grace went on to appear in a few movies such as One Good Cop (1991), The Poky Little Puppy's First Christmas (1992), Ira Sleeps Over (1993). She also appeared in an ABC Afterschool Special called Notes for My Daughter (1995). Recently, Grace has begun to do more acting, she has several movies she's been working on, including Bloodlines (2007) and The Metrosexual (2007).
